It's time! Time to put off mowing the yard for another week, and drag out those snow machines for the first event of the summer sled season.
The Classic Sled Round Up is Sunday May 30th, in St Germain, Wis. This show brings out some of the nicest displays of sleds seen anywhere. The feature sled this year is John Deere and if the Waconia show was any indication, the John Deere faithful will show up in great numbers. Be sure to come early and spend some time in the museum, it houses many great consumer and race sleds along with walls full of memorabilia from back in the day. Some of the men who raced those sleds will be in attendance meeting fans and telling history as only they could.
There is a large vintage swap meet, chances are that you'll find just the parts you need for your next sled project. There will also be live music and food provided on the museum grounds. The Snowmobile Hall of Fame and Museum is located about 15 miles west of the historic Eagle River track. If you are a die hard sled fan, plan on spending the weekend in the area and taking in more snowmobile history than you could ever imagine.
