Ok Dan...
Whats the status of the raffle tickets? How many will be sold? When and where can they be purchased? Any thought on when the drawing will be?

Thanks!
cp

We are waiting to print tickets until we get a couple of other prizes donated for 2nd and 3rd prize to accompany the sled. We are planning to print 1,000 tickets. We are still up in the air for the location of the drawing. Would be good to get the sled complete by the beginning of winter and we will need a little time to sell the tickets. Probably pick an event next spring or summer. Suggestions?

it the hood the same as all the 71 lynx's?  Without the top hood vent.  or is there any other models that use that hood?

Should be the same on all the 71 Lynx's. I think it is the same as the 70 pathers too but I think they have the top vent this hood does not. If we find one great, otherwise we will see what the body shop can do. I'm thinking they will be able to fix it up.

The 71 Lynx did not share the same hood with any other model that I am aware of. The 70 Panther hood will work with the exception of the top hood vent behind the dash. If you decide to use a 70 Panther hood I have an NOS top vent that I can send out.

Also all of my parts shipped out yesterday- belly pan, track drivers, windsahield base trim, windsheild hardware, engine gasket kit and cylinder head baffle. Let me know if you need anything else.

I am going to take the hood and tank to the body shop this weekend, we'll see what they think as far as repairing the hood we have.

Thanks so much on the parts. Now we can get to work on the pan and make it shine. The motor guy will be back this week from vacation and we will see what the inside of the motor looks like. It is standard bore. I'll let you know what we need then.

that should give us plenty of time to find someone who can bring the seat back to you.
I plan to have it done by the end of august at the latest......................we will be traveling to A-1 if we can't find someone sooner perhaps someone can pick it up there?

ext, Got the care package yesterday, thanks. Very nice belly pan. The exhaust hole is in the wrong location but we will work with that, it is called a hole saw. I have a good friend at work who is a good aluminum welder and will asked him about welding the other hole shut. Either way this pan will look great on the sled.

Dropped the hood and tank off at the body shop today. Brian said he can fix the hood if we don't find a better one before he starts on the other one.

Dropped the parts for powder coat off with Pete yesterday and he is on that.

The motor guy is back from vacation so maybe he will get going on the motor.

When is A-1? so we can figure out what to do with the seat.

The A-1 show is the first weekend in November, We will have a load of machines headed back to Minnesota from the A-1 show and they would just love to make the trip with a nice comfy seat along.

I am guesing that will be soo enough. Even if we have  the build date prior to that we can put the seat on after the sled is together. Sounds like a plan.

We have a seat delivery plan then. Where are you going once in MN? We have a guy who is working on this project with us that travels the state for his job and can maybe transport it part of the way if you are not going all the way to Bemidji. We are about 3-4 hours north of Minneapolis/St. Paul. Thanks.

That plan will be good, we will be back to Minnesota on Sunday after the show, we can work out the details of getting it to Bemiji.

All the metal parts have been blasted and painted as of last night.  I still have the exhaust manifold that needs to be reblasted due to it rusts within hours of blasting.  All the parts look delicious and will compliment the whole sled.  Is anyone going toward Bemidji any time soon to deliver these parts to Skerz?  It is the bulkhead, skis, and rear suspension.  I would think it would fit into most cars except for the ones the government wants us to drive.

Awesome job Pete, Thanks. If someone could get the parts to Menahga we have someone who could carry them the rest of the way. Also, there is a guy working on this project who lives in Menahga where the parts could be dropped off until we get the delivery boy to pick them up.

Did he sprinkle a little sandblasting sand on the runningboards for traction?  That worked out really good on my skiroule when he painted that for me.
Running boards are bare aluminum. Shiny, pretty, and you can use them like a mirror to pick stuff out of your teeth.
Good idea though for a race sled. I just zipped in a bunch of sheet metal screws on the roll of my race sled for traction. Rips the tread up on the souls of your boots, but no slipping.

I stand corrected...
The 8hp kohler in the picture I put up was from a 67 p8. I thought they all used that black clutch.
Thanks for the correct info Jerry!

I have a N.O.S. 500 salisbury I could donate, is that the correct one?
