There is one of the tabs on the bulk head for mounting the dash to that is shot. Do you want this fixed up before you get it or can you fab that up?

I can weld and repair the parts if you want.  That suspension looks simple as well.
I am off of work all this week if Tom gets in the neighborhood. Just have him give me a call.

what condition is the hood?  cant tell from the pics.  I might have a NOS hood.

DanT,

The hood is a little rough. We were going to try to find a better starting point but everything we find is not very nice. An NOS hood would be awesome.

Thanks ext on the parts. We still have not dug into the motor so we don't know what may be all needed there. I did get it in the hands of the guy building it today.

DanT, let me know on the hood. That would be awesome if that NOS hood is the same. I will wait to hear from you before I get the body shop going on anything.

Penguin, you should have to seat Monday. I shipped it UPS.

Pete, I checked with Eman and he said he never gets to Perham. Your delivery boy said he will see when/if he can get the parts to you. I will see if I can find someone going your way from Bemidji.

Ruppluver, Arc got your donation in the mail. Thank you. We will put it to good use for some shiney new parts.

Does anyone know if the primary clutch is the correct one? The one on the motor is one of the old polaris chainlink black clutches. Everything I find on these says salsbury. CP says this is the one and I believe him but the Intertech book says Salsbury.

Here's a couple pictures of a 67 p-8 engine. Cat used those Polaris clutches on some four strokers.

I do have a salsbury model 500 I'd toss at you if you wanna lose that pretty black one.

We need to get the pretty black thing off before we do anything which might be a  . We had even talked about putting a duster on it but the black beauty is probably a better deal anyway. TX CP, you're always helpful.

DanT,

I don't think we have a match. That looks like about a 68 pather hood. The only difference is where the headlight goes. The Lynx hood is not flat like this one and has ribs on each side of the headlight. Darn...... that really looks like a sweet hood too. We'll find one that is nice or fix the one we have. Thanks so much for the offer.

the seat arrived today-I'll be starting it soon. UPS driver was very gentle with the box-even delivered to me before he bounced over the mountain road so he wouldn't break the glass! Ha-I didn't tell him it was only a seat-I'll ship it back in the same box so they treat it extra special again.

That hood is a '69 vintage the windshield, windshield trim is different, takes a top hood vent and I believe the hinge mounting is different.

Great, glad it got there in one piece. Typically the word "Fragile" means they drop it from at least 6' twice. That was the only box I could find that it would fit in. Now I have to install what was in the box in our house, my wife will be so happy. Also, I don't know who you usually ship with but UPS was almost $40 to ship that seat. Maybe FedEx is more reasonable?Huh?? Maybe we can find someone traveling that would be willing to bring it back.

Does the foam look like it is good enough? There is some missing.

lately I have found the good old USPO is the most cost efficient way to go.

that would be great-perhaps we can put the word out.  We will be traveling to A-1 in November, but I'm sure you want it before that. I'll check with some of the guys around here to see who may be headed out your way.

I can work with the foam-it is perfect compared to some I've had to do(have you noticed my avitar?)

I am excited to see your work. The seat in your avitar looks pretty bad.

We will put the word out for the seat shipping when you get it done, otherwise we can go with USPO. Thanks much.

Update:
Motor has been delivered to the builder and he has not dug into it too deeply yet
Seat is in NH with Penguin getting recovered
Tunnel and other misc. aluminum is in Butch's hands for some shine time
I have been working on the secondary clutch and some other little odds and ends

Needed:
-We need to get the parts for powder coat to Pete in Perham. Is there anyone going from Bemidji to Perham area in the next week. If not I will be in Perham for a charity golf outing on July 16.
-We are still looking for a hood that is better than the one we have, we need to get the hood and tank to the body shop soon as he wants to be done with it before Sept 1 when deer start running into cars
-Front and rear bumpers
-Grab handle, need one
-Dash

We are thinking we are going to pull all the cleats off the track and powder coat them and re-rivet them on. I talked a couple of guys from TRF on this, looks like they are willing to take it on. Overall we are doing pretty well.

I have the cleats removed from the track and I used a hammer and chisel, never have been able to hit a nail straight and am no better with a chisel...............ouch. Next time an air chisel will be in order. Could use some new cleats.............. anyone? Need about 10. Will drop all the parts off for powder coat to SnoJetX on Thursday. Still trying to hunt up some decent bumpers and a hood (probably take the one we have to body shop and see what he can do).

66 Panther, I plan to send the track with Eric to TRF. Will let you know on that.

Anytime is fine, but no rush. We have not set up a build date yet, sometime in Aug at the earliest. Let you know when we get going. I am going to take the hood up to the body shop this week and I can have them put the graphics on it as they will probabley do a better job than the rest of us. Thanks Frank.

Should be the same on all the 71 Lynx's. I think it is the same as the 70 pathers too but I think they have the top vent this hood does not. If we find one great, otherwise we will see what the body shop can do. I'm thinking they will be able to fix it up.

Ok Dan...
Whats the status of the raffle tickets? How many will be sold? When and where can they be purchased? Any thought on when the drawing will be?

Thanks!

The 71 Lynx did not share the same hood with any other model that I am aware of. The 70 Panther hood will work with the exception of the top hood vent behind the dash. If you decide to use a 70 Panther hood I have an NOS top vent that I can send out.

Also all of my parts shipped out yesterday- belly pan, track drivers, windsahield base trim, windsheild hardware, engine gasket kit and cylinder head baffle. Let me know if you need anything else.
